You may enroll at any time throughout the program.  To register call Debbie Lehman at 906-632-9331, email her at or stop in and pick up a flyer.

family movies @ bayliss

Family Movies @ Bayliss are movies shown in the Community Room one Saturday each month.  The movies are family friendly, open to the general public and free of charge.  Popcorn is available as well.  Check our Calendar for upcoming times and dates.

summer reading

Each summer Bayliss Public Libarary participates in the statewide Summer Reading Program.  Throughout the summer, from June until August, both preschool and elementary age children are invited to include their reading in their activities for the summer.  Children may check out books to read over the summer, keep track of the books read (or ones read to them) by recording the titles, and then attend weekly sessions at the library; ending with a "Grand Drawing" in August.  Children do not have to attend every session to participate in the Summer Reading Program.  A different theme is selected for each year.  This year's theme is "Build a Better World".  Enrollment will begin on June 1st.

Each session lasts approximately one hour and caregivers are invited to stay with their preschool children, while elementary children may attend on their own.  Children will keep track of the books read (or ones read to them) by recording the titles.  Each title will be hung from a stream from the ceiling of the Children's Room.  At the end of the program, the titles will be taken down and added to the Grand Drawing.  Ten titles read will mean TEN chances to win a prize.  T-shirt drawings will be done weekly.  Our amazing readers set records every year, and never cease to astonish us with the total number of books they read over the summer break!

Check the calendar in the spring for dates and times.  For more information, contact Debbie Lehman at or call 906-632-9331 or stop in to the library.

superior chess club

Offered in the Children's library once a month to both children and teens.  This club meets on the first Thursday of each month at 4:30 p.m. and is open to players of any ability.  There is no cost or expectation, just come and have some fun.  You may bring your own chess set if you wish or use one of ours.

bayliss building club

We offer a couple of building clubs for children of all ages which are available throughout the entire school year.  The first club is offered on the second Saturday of each month at 1:00 p.m. The second club, offered to Homeschoolers, is held on the second Tuesday of each month at 1:00 p.m.

There is no need to bring your own building blocks, as we have more than enough to go around.  We even have large Duplo blocks for toddlers.  Come on down to the children's room and let the kids imagine and build away!
