Bayliss Public Library

Local History Materials / Steere Room

Bayliss Public Library houses the Judge Joseph H. Steere Room, an historic collection of Michigan-related books, documents, and photographs. The collection focuses primarily on Chippewa, Mackinac, Luce, and Schoolcraft counties in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.

We also have an extensive collection of microfilm, including the Sault Evening News, available back to 1903. Articles can be printed, saved, or emailed.

The Steere Room is for research projects only, under the supervision of Library staff. Casual browsing is not allowed.
